With thanks to 6dc, I had the privilege to attend the launch party to Michael Moore’s new restaurant, O Bar and Dining.
Read on to find out more about Sydney’s latest dining establishment and for some photos from the launch.
O Bar and Dining is a revision of the former Summit Restaurant, a down shift from a fine dining restaurant to more of a casual dining environment (albeit still a somewhat upmarket one), along with a bar and lounge. It’s a smart move as, at least with the friends that I keep, the former Summit was always considered more of a place to kick back with cocktails than an actual dining destination; an orbital observatory where one can wile and wind down from the work week as their eye wanders over the wondrous vista of Sydney’s skyline as it winds around them.
The shift to casual dining is reflected in the menu, though the prices still lean towards the premium end of the dining spectrum. There are number of interesting bar snacks available to accompany an array of cocktails (both with and without alcohol), including sweet potato fries and a variety of sliders and crispy corn tacos. There’s also a comprehensive dinner menu too if you’re after something more substantial.
While it’s hard to judge the dishes of a restaurant based on canapés at a launch party, things look rather promising as the crispy corn tacos were good, their seafood was fresh and well prepared, and positive comments were made regarding their wagyu sliders, though unfortunately I didn’t get around to trying one myself.
All in all, it was a great launch night. For more images from the launch party, check out the photo galleries at either the heart of food Facebook Page or alternately from my Google+ account.

Funny you should say that. I swore I thought I caught a glimpse of your bf there. Anyhow, I had to leave early. Pity we weren’t able to catch up.
Wonderful pics Simon!
